Skiing & Boarding

With 4 ski resorts within easy access, skiers and boarders are spoiled for choice! Coronet Peak is the closest resort to Queenstown, a 20 minute drive and The Remarkables is a 40 minute drive, while Cardrona is approx 60 minutes from Queenstown on the road to Wanaka and Treble Cone is about 1 hour 30 minutes (past Wanaka). Coronet Peak is New Zealand's first commerical snow fields, a favourite among locals with 280 hectares of skiable terrain. They also have some great open off-piste riding. Night skiing is offered Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights for those who can’t get enough. The Remarkables sits above the clouds at 1943m above sea level, offering a big mountain experience with 3 snow-filled, sun-facing bowls and renowned chutes to explore while taking in the spectacular views across Queenstown. There are runs for everyone to enjoy with a great variety of terrain - 30% beginner, 40% intermediate and 30% expert. Cardrona is a family favourite for its wide open runs, plenty of intermediate terrain and childcare facilities. If you like to ride park and pipes then Cardrona has you covered with some of the most extensive terrain park facilities in the Southern Hemisphere. It is also a great beginners mountain with their newly installed ‘Chondola’. Treble Cone is NZ’s largest ski area on the South Island with 550 ha of skiable terrain and is the perfect resort for advanced riders with some fun side country and backcountry options. It also has one of the best views from any ski resort in the world.
