Accommodation Steamboat

There’s a wide range of accommodation at Steamboat and almost all of it is within the main mountain village. Choose from ski-in ski-out condos and hotels, which are particularly convenient for families, or venture further afield to others beyond the resort base.
If you’re holidaying on a budget, look to the down town area where you can find more economically priced lodges and motels that are clean and comfortable.
Steamboat runs a reliable ski shuttle, so even if you’re staying a little way off the hill you’ll still be incredibly close to the chair lifts, shops, childcare and ski school. Most hotels also have shuttles for dropping you off at the resort base or downtown.

Skiing & Boarding

Situated in the Northern Colorado Rockies, Steamboat receives, an average, nine metres of incredibly light dry “champagne” snow each season. And with six peaks and over 2,965 acres of spectacular snow covered terrain to explore, it delivers memorable experiences for skiers and boarders of all capabilities year after year.
If you’re a beginner you’ll love the progressive runs that promote fast, easy learning while Intermediate skiers and snowboarders will enjoy diverse groomed trails, many picturesquely tree-lined and abundant with powder.
If you’re advanced and love tree-skiing, Steamboat is your ultimate destination, with its perfectly gladed aspen trees on slopes of varying gradients. Don’t miss the exhilaration of a powder day.

Activities

Somehow, Steamboat manages to offer something for everyone – whether you’re into hot air balloons, ski jumping, sleigh-ride dinners, snowmobile tours, fishing, powder cat skiing, ice skating or horse-riding, it’s all on tap at this world class resort… if you’ve got the energy.
If not, there’s always a soak in the natural thermal springs amongst the surrounding pine forest at Strawberry Park to sooth your body after a long day on the mountain. Beware that bathers are optional after dark, there are no lights and it can get crowded!
Steamboat has a Kids Vacation Center in the Gondola building and an internationally renowned ski school that offers private and group lessons for skiers and snowboarders of all ages.

Getting There & Around

Steamboat is located in northwestern Colorado about a 4-hour drive from Denver or 30 minutes from Hayden Airport. Steamboat is easy to get around on foot or via the town’s free transport service between the ski area and downtown.
