The Gstaad ski region comprises numerous towns & villages in the Sarine (Saane) valley & below the Glacier 3000 ski area. Gstaad, is the most central of the villages. While it is often referred to as a fashion mecca, Gstaad actually offers accommodation for all budgets. It has direct access to half of the ski lifts & is the closest of the valley villages to the high elevation Glacier 3000, a short bus ride away. Other popular Saantal villages with nearby ski lift access are Rougemont, Saanen & Schoenried.

Anyone who wants a glacial feeling can enjoy it on the Glacier 3000.The slopes around Gstaad’s local mountain Wispile are ideal for families and beginners. Especially the beginner’s area in the valley and the numerous forest trails are perfectly suited for the first turns in the snow. For those wanting a real thigh burn, La Videmanette is Gstaad’s longest slope, stretching 7.5kms. Tiger Run, the legendary steepest ski slope, is on the Wasserngrat. Anyone who didn't let their hair down on the slopes during the day has the opportunity to do so at night. The Rinderberg offers ski and snowboard enthusiasts winter sports fun late into the evening on floodlit slopes.

From Geneva, take the train to Montreux and change trains for Saanen/Gstaad. From Zurich, take international train connections to Spiez and change trains for Zweisimmen. In Zweisimmen change trains for Gstaad.
