Accommodation Lech

Lech attracts some of the world’s most wealthy tourists and as such has an abundance of luxurious accommodation, most of it ski-in-ski-out. More affordable accommodation comprises smaller hotels that range from modern to traditional, and usually come packaged with breakfast and dinner, either in the hotel or at a sister restaurant. None of it is self-contained. There is plenty of accommodation in the heart of the village and some further out that will require use of the free shuttle. The villages of Omesberg and Oberlech also offer a wide range of accommodation to suit your style and budget. Hotels within the pedestrian friendly, car free village of Oberlech are connected by a series of tunnels and the village itself is connected to Lech by cable car.

Skiing & Boarding

As part of the gigantic Arlberg skiing region, Lech is linked by ski runs and lifts to the slopes of Zürs, Zug and Warth-Schröcken. With a quick bus ride, it’s also possible to ski St Anton, St Christoph, Stuben and Klösterle, giving you a massive 340km of skin runs and 200km of off-piste to explore. You can circumnavigate many of these resorts via the 22km White Ring or Der Weisse Ring – it’s a great day out! While Lech has several beginners’ slopes, the majority of this mountain caters to the needs of intermediates, with endless wide-open, perfectly groomed runs sitting above the tree line, as well as challenging moguls and when the powder’s in, some easier off-piste runs. If you’re advanced, your best bet is to book a guide and head to the more difficult off-piste terrain or take the opportunity to go heli-skiing. If you’re looking to work on technicalities, Lech’s 3.6ha snowpark has challenges for all abilities with rails, boxes, kickers and more.

Activities

Chances are that once you’re in the charming town of Lech, you’ll simply want to sit and soak up the atmosphere, watch the horse drawn carriages clop by, stare into the tumbling river that runs through the village or savour the amazing dishes prepared by internationally renowned chefs. However, there’s much to explore with snowshoeing, ice-skating, tobogganing and 27km of cross country trails all on offer. Heli-skiing and tandem paragliding are also on tap. If you love to be amongst nature, Lech offers picturesque winter hiking and also the chance to observe and feed the local game.

Getting There & Around

To get to Lech fly into Innsbruck and from here you’re just over 1.5 hours from the village. Alternatively, you can fly into Zurich for a journey that will take just over two hours. Regular shuttle services will take you from Innsbruck or Zurich to Lech and a train service is also available.
