Friendly Sun Peaks

We spent a week at Sun Peaks. Nancy Greene herself welcomed us and there were 2 welcome receptions. The hotel is truly ski in ski out and in a superb location. The facilities enabled you to cook your own meals.

We enjoyed the free mountain guided tour on the first day to orient us to the best runs.

Poor visibility and foggy weather spoilt the experience to a degree. The snow quality was great with excellent daily grooming.

The little food store had fantastic fresh fruit.

Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful.

Sun peaks is easily the best resort we have skiied at. There were no lift lines worth mentioning and we were there in what we thought would be peak season (Christmas week)!

Great snow, good mix of terrain for all levels, good mix of groomed vs not groomed runs, well laid out and very picturesque village with all the facilities one would need or expect.

Great choice of restaurtants, but not much in the way of nightlife for the 20''s age group so anyone looking for that might want to try a different resort.

We also visted Silverstar in this trip and have previously visted other Canadian resorts and although Silverstar probably had more/better double black terrain, Sun Peaks offered a much better overall experience and enough black runs to keep us happy!

Our group of 5 adults visited Sun Peaks in December 2009. We booked through Travelplan who recommended The Coast Resort, which was perfectly located adjacent to the main lifts base. The rooms were excellent, of good size and well equipped.

Sun Peaks is an outstanding resort for all levels, with three mountains, a huge variety of terrain, and virtually no queues.

Travelplan did a great job for us and everything happened perfectly.
