Appi Kogen is a compact purpose built resort in the north-eastern part of Japan’s main island, Honshu. Lotte Arai Resort is located on the northern outskirts of Myoko ski area, about 2hrs from Tokyo by bullet train. It reopened in December 2017 after an extensive refurbishment, offering deluxe accommodation and world-class facilities. The Arai resort is quite small with only 5 lifts however it has Japan's biggest in-bounds off-piste ski area and receives over 15 metres of snow!
