Lotte Arai Resort is located on the northern outskirts of Myoko ski area, about 2hrs from Tokyo by bullet train. It reopened in December 2017 after an extensive refurbishment, offering deluxe accommodation and world-class facilities. The Arai resort is quite small with only 5 lifts however it has Japan's biggest in-bounds off-piste ski area and receives over 15 metres of snow!

Accommodation Lotte Arai

The Lotte Arai Resort Hotel & Lodge is the main complex at the base of the resort and offers deluxe Western-style accommodation. The resort has lots of restaurants, onsen, gym, childcare and even a karaoke room.

Skiing & Boarding

The Arai Resort has Japan's biggest in-bounds off-piste ski area and wide open powder bowls above the tree line. For those beginner to intermediate riders there are some nice long runs below the tree line. The resort is serviced by only 5 lifts however the terrain is easily accessible.

Activities

The resort offers plenty of activities for guests who don't ski or snowboard, such as zip-tour, tubing, bouldering, and more.

Getting There & Around

To get to the resort, you'll need to fly into Narita. From here, take the Hakutaka shinkansen for 112 minutes from Tokyo to Joetsu Myoko then take a 20 minute taxi ride to the resort or the free shuttle to Arai.
