The Gant, Aspen

To ski for 14 days at Aspen with my adult children was an absolute privilege. They are all terrific skiers who have skied through Europe. They just loved it! Great terrain, back country, Highland Bowl, nightlife, food on and off the 4 mountains, & great retail.

Aspen has it all! And you know what it just all works! Guess what else; it''s not expensive and only as pretentious as you want it to be!

Accomodation at The Gant was great too. Have to love the Gant Bus in & out of town at all times of the day. By the way it is only a short walk so easy either way.

I could go on & on but whats left to is "can’t wait to go back!".

Aspen/Snowmass

After 5 visits to Aspen/ Snowmass we are skiing new terrain every year as our skills improve. Huge area to ski across the 4 mountains and always somewhere to get away from the crowds on the busier runs. Great instructors at the ski school.

The Gant offers comfortable accommodation with gym, saunas, outdoor pool and hot-tubs to unwind in at the end if the day.... Friendly, helpful staff and courtesy buses to run you down to shops and restaurants if the weather isn't conducive to a leisurely 5 to 10 minute stroll.

Terrific choice of restaurants and cuisine or pick up all your own needs to cook dinner from the supermarket and The Butcher's Block ( fantastic butcher, seafood and deli providore rolled in to one) next to the Grog Shop (great selection of beers, wines and all spirits ) and all within a few blocks easy walk from The Gant. We can't wait to return next year!

Gasping Over Aspen

It is snow covered old gold, irresistible to any snow tooth.Snows overnight and then sunny during the day. Wind must blow somewhere on this earth but rarely here. Boldies and oldies mix it together and courtesy is unlimited wherever you go.

If you don''t like it here you won''t like it anywhere.

The Gant - Its Got the Goods!

We stayed 8 nights in a premier two bedroom apartment. Ours was split level with two bathrooms. It had all the equipment for self catering. The apartment was in very good condition and vast in size. Comfortable quality furniture and plasma TV's everywhere (3!). The heating was most effective. Our apartment did not have a heated drying room which we found curious in a ski apartment, but it turned out not to be an issue.

The location of The Gant is 7 minutes walk from the centre of town... if you want to walk. The shuttle service is so good you really don't need to walk and its picks up on request in minutes - the longest we waited for a pick up from a restaurant was 5 minutes! Unbelievable!

The supermarket is 6 minutes walk and is a full size, genuine store. You also receive access to the exclusive Aspen Club Spa - its worth a visit.

Staff at The Gant are cheerful, helpful and effective. This is an excellent, well-run property.

Would not hesitate to go back.

Best ski destination, bar none

Having skied in Australia and in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I was blown away by the town and the skiing in Aspen.

There was variety on the slopes, for all levels of skiers (including steep and deep), even when the snow was not at its best (we did get a couple of small dumps during our stay). 

The town was fun and friendly, with plenty to do when not on the slopes. 

Great bars and restaurants, from kiddie friendly to smart. 

The Gant was flawless. The pool and hot tubs were a treat for sore bodies, the shuttle service was friendly and prompt, and the ski concierge service was a god send. Definitely coming back. Again and again.

Aspen - The Gant

My family (myself, wife and 3 teenage children) booked through Travelplan into the Gant at Aspen in conjunction with the AALC Conference in January 2011. Travelplan arranged everything relating to the conference, together with flights that took us into San Francisco so we could do 10 days travel on west coast before the conference.

Travelplan were very helpful with the various changes I sought before finalizing our itenary.

Aspen skiing and facilities were great. Our unit in the Gant was very comfortable and well appointed. I was a little disappointed the Gant did not have a central lounge or meeting aarea, but apart from that it was an excellent place to stay.

Awesome Aspen

Aspen was awesome. We stayed in a very comfy condo at The Gant. It is on the edge of town but it has a very efficient shuttle service for the 5 minute run into town. Aspen also has an excellent, and free, bus service to the 3 ski fields just outside Aspen.

There is plenty of variety in the ski terrain. Our favourite was the Aspen gondola run, but the wide expanses of Snowmass and  Highlands are great as well. There are plenty of good restaurants in Aspen and the prices are mostly very reasonable.

Aspen village in March ''10

I stayed at The Gant in Aspen with a friend and enjoyed a wonderful week skiing on all four Aspen mountains. Accommodation was superb in an ideal location with all facilities within easy reach. The lack of a Bar at the Gant was suprising  as it would really enhance the Apres'' ski enjoyment.

Aspen caters for all types with terrific restaurants and a huge night -life---bars,cafe''s and nightclubs.

Now you can fly directly from Chicago and L.A. it makes for a simple, easy holiday .  

Very worthwhile,  

Aspen at the Gant 27 Feb to 14 March 2010

Second time at the Gant. Consistent quaslity and service, which was good. Aspen, I feel, has the best snow in the US: the 4 mountains offer a very wide range of skiing opportunities.

Whilst there it snowed, and the depth and quality of snow (especially the powder) was excellent. I want to return to the Gant and Aspen.

Aspen is Still King - but the airport can be its undoing!

The four mountains of the Aspen Snowmass resort provide exhilarating terrain and conditions for all levels of skiers. 

The people of Aspen are welcoming and can''t do enough to help its visitors. This is more for feedback, which I have previously given to David Withers.  

The Gant staff are extemly helpful and will go to any length to ensure guests holidays are as good as they can be.  

The Aspen Ski Company''s staff likewise will go to great lengths to ensure guests enjoy themselves. The only downfall we have found is the airport, some of the staff there and the issue relating to the rules relating to luggage. Unfortunately for all the work the Aspen people put into making an Aspen ski holiday memorable, the airport is the last memory one has of Aspen so one person at the airport can ruin the hard work of many others. This is not how the people of Aspen would like its guests to remember it. Something needs to be done.  

We continue to recommend Aspen to all we meet at home and abroad.
