Copper Mountain is the perfect mountain for families and beginners, with endless rolling slopes as well as plenty of surprisingly steep, deep runs to push more adventurous skiers to the limit. Copper’s down to earth village offers loads of great accommodation, and it’s all within walking distance of the lifts.
Food & Bars
AccommodationAt Copper Mountain you’ll find wherever you stay, you’re within a five to 10 minute walk of the chair lifts and some accommodation is ski-in-ski-out.
While accommodation mostly comprises budget to mid range condos, if you’re after a more up market option, you should look to The Cirque, located between the West and Center Villages.
Staying in the Centre or West Village is highly recommended, as the East Village is a little cut off from the action and does not offer immediate access to beginners’ slopes. Most importantly, check out the facilities you want to access before you choose your accommodation – that way you know you’ll be as close as possible to everything you need.
Skiing & BoardingCopper Mountain’s natural division of terrain creates several distinct areas that are ideally suited to different levels of skiers.
A dedicated area with five magic carpet/conveyer lifts and mellow green runs, serviced by gentle chairlifts above the West Village area are ideal for kids and beginners. Intermediates will get into the blue runs off Timberline Express as well as the long groomers that run off the high-speed American Eagle or Super Bee lifts. Copper becomes more challenging the further left you go – advanced skiers will have a ton of fun taking on the bowls, gladed runs and chutes at the top of the mountain. There’s even a free snowcat for accessing some of the double blacks off Tucker Mountain . If you’re looking for fun, check out Woodward, Copper's own freestyle terrain park, with its superpipe, a 13’ pipe and snowcross track, or perfect your jumps in safety at the Woodward indoor training centre.
ActivitiesWhether you’re feeling energetic or ready to relax, Copper Mountain has masses of activities for you to enjoy.
Perfect your jumping techniques in safety at the indoor Woodward facility or head out to the backcountry to experience cross-country skiing.
Looking for a thrill? There are plenty to be had. Get onboard the zip-line, or take the plunge and experience tubing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and dog sledding.
An afternoon spent on the natural ice-skating rink is an ideal way to keep families of all ages entertained, while younger kids will love Critterland in the East Village. This safe, fenced-off area with its mini-tubing hill, play areas, tubing carousel and even a ‘Crooked House’ will keep the kids busy for hours. Then there’s the new Rocky Mountain Coaster; one of the longest coasters in North America that takes you through the forest. Children must be 3 or over and be supervised to enjoy this picturesque ride.
