Mayrhofen's 146km of skiing trails are located on both sides of the Ziller Valley, with an even mix of northerly and southerly facing slopes. The extended Zillertal Superski area provides over 450km of runs on one pass.

Although Mayrhofen sits at only 630m above sea level the snow often holds until well into April, when the town takes on a summer personality with pavement cafes and sunny days. The Hintertux Glacier provides some of the best summer skiing in Europe.
