Travelplan has teamed up with the Carbon Reduction Institute to do something about climate change. We have received a 100% LowCO2 certification, meaning that all the greenhouse gas emissions from running our offices have been reduced and offset. Travelplan’s Head Office is now run on 100% GreenPower. All other energy usage, employee travel and waste are carbon neutral.
As a customer of Travelplan, we offer you the chance to combat climate change with us! We give you the option to offset the carbon emissions from your holiday when you make a booking. For only a small amount extra, you can help secure future winter holidays in the snow!
Offsetting emissions is a process whereby you pay a third party to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on your behalf in exchange for carbon credits. The Carbon Reduction Institute is an accredited provider of carbon credits under the NSW Greenhouse Gas Abatement Scheme (GGAS). Their emissions accounting model follows the GHG protocol under the Kyoto standard.
When you offset the carbon emissions from your holiday with Travelplan, the Carbon Reduction Institute prevents the exact amount of greenhouse gases your trip produces from entering the atmosphere by investing in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
With Travelplan, you can choose to offset the emissions from your flight, car, public transport and accommodation. Just enter the details of your trip in the calculator and follow the instructions. All the money collected from your offsets is spent on the environment, e.g. for purchasing and installing energy saving light bulbs in Australian homes.
