Park City / Snowflower Condos

Written by John a Skier from John Lance
20/4/2012

Slopeside location is certainly ski-in ski-out but Snowflower is well away from the town centre once the lifts are closed. Check the quoted price against their internet prices. "Studio" meant cooking & sleeping in a drop-down bed in the same room.

Taxis are unreliable at peak periods but one family-run service was great & cheap (1-435-658 5343).

Good skiing if there is fresh snow. Otherwise top runs are heavily mogulled.

Ski Hoste programme excellent. You can buy Deer Valley tkts at a shop at 625 Main after 3 pm. Seafood buffet at DV terminal is a must. Butchers Restaurantin PC is good.

Park City Resort

Written by Carole a Skier from Harcourt, Victoria
19/4/2012

I was most impressed with Park City and the fact that it offered three resort options.

As an older skier I found the grooming suited me and a light fluff of powder on two days was great. I was most impressed by the Mountain Hosts service as I go alone and this is a great way to learn the mountain andf meet people.

As Deer Valley has paid Guides the tours ended up more like ski lessons. Where I stayed at Chateau Apres was a warm, friendly place, not pretentious as it is run as a Family business. I have skied in many countries but found this last holiday to one of my best yet.

Deer Valley Heaven for Skiiers

Written by Pam a Skier from Castle Cove
26/1/2012

Imagine a ski resort where you are greeted by friendly staff and asked if you they can assist you with your skis each morning?

Imagine being able to drop your skis in at the end of the day and collect them each morning free of charge?

Imagine great food, no lift lines, a variety of terrain and no snow boarders in sight?

If you want to ski in a board free zone, with great facilities, conditions, terrain, and exceptional service, go to Deer Valley.

Snowflower condos are ok, probably represent good value for money and convenient if you''re skiing Park City, but only a short drive to Deer Valley (easy parking there).

Utah 2012

Written by David a Skier from Canberra
25/1/2012

The Park City area is a terrific place to ski with Deer Valley being the pick of the crop.

Fantastic array of terrain with good infrastructure. Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) is a good mountain as well and Canyons is also worth a ski. Snowbird is an intimidating mountain with some fantastic off piste terrain and is really only for advanced skiers.

Eating out in PC was a bit ''hit and miss''. The best meals we had were at the Mexican restaurant at PCMR and the meals we cooked ourselves. PC was a great location, only 30 mins from Salt Lake City airport.

Having to pay $30 for each piece of luggage for flights within the US was annoying.

Deer Valley would have to be in the top 3 of all the places that we have skied in the world and we look forward to returning when there is a bit more powder on the ground and possibly bringing a bigger group.  You should note that Deer Valley does not allow snowboarders and limits the number of tickets it sells each day to keep the crowds down.

Utah is Ace

Written by Ed a Skier from Melbourne, Australia
28/4/2011

Utah a great place to ski. Stayed at Park City for the week, Obviously skied Park City, then Deer Valley, Snowbird and the Canyons.

I would highly recommend the experience. Deer Valley has the best facilities of any resort in the world, the on mountain eating is sensational with carpet and chefs in the cafeteria, the slopes were groomed to perfection.

The powder at in the Snowbird back bowl was unbelievable, 50 feet per season with the most challenging slopes.

Park City was good and the bars and restaurants great.

This was my second visit to Utah, you will never be disappointed.

Park City Mountain Resort

Written by Charles a Skier from Sydney, Australia
16/4/2011

Prior to our trip I was quite excited about skiing Park City - after 2 days I was rather disappointed. Our main concerns; 1) badly laid out lifts, 2) poor service, 3) too many boarders, 4) average terrain.  Many of the so called black runs would have been blues runs at many other US resorts.  The exception here is the terrain off Jupiter which was excellent.  The constant ticket scanning at the lower lifts also gets extremely tiresome (especially when many of the lifties seem to resent you interupting their conversations to get your ticket scanned).  There is no comparison between PCMR and Deer Valley - but both have the same day ticket price.  Do yourself a favour go to Deer Valley. Would we go back to PCMR - Not likely

Park City Skiing

Written by Ian a Skier from Australia
26/2/2011

We went for the skiing. (blue to double blue standard). beats Meribel, Zermat, Vail, Whistler, New zealand, and blows poor old Aussie away. Snow Flower Condos are right at the best lift in Park City and Deer Valley is 20 mins away on free bus every 20 minutes. Get a 2nd or 3rd floor condo facing the slopes if you can afford it but all are just great. You dont need to ski anywhere else. If you are rich, try stein Erickson Lodge at Deer Valley, then go directly to heaven and do not pass go!

Park City & The Snow Flower - Great for Kids

Written by Hugh a Skier from Sydney, Australia
24/2/2011

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days at the Snow Flower. The location ski in/out is unbeatable, and the accommodation very comfortable if perhaps needing a little of a spruce up (what is with carpet in bathrooms).

The mountain staff friendly, the skiing great for all abilities. The only minor criticism is the cost of ski school at $230 per day whilst a great experience for the kids a little pricey.

Location to Salt Lake City and a vibrant downtown Park City mean we will return.

Park City Family Vacation

Written by Richard a Skier from Cremorne, Sydney Australia
24/2/2011

A great resort with plenty of varied terrian for all the family. The multi resort pass meant we also skied Deer Valley which was also fantastic. The strength of the USD means it was remarkable value for an Aussie. Food and shopping was significantly cheaper than Australlia. The accomodation was excellent and slope side not far from the resort centre. Was able to get around on the free buses very easily. The whole area was significatly customer focused and catered for visitors which made it all the more enjoyable. A really good family holiday.

Snow Flower Condominiums

Written by Erica a Skier from Blue Mountains, Australia
7/4/2010

Our stay at Park City at Snow Flower was overall excellent. We were on holiday with no children and had no lessons , so cannot comment on these aspects but, accommodation was very good. The staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Ski terrain at Park City was of course vast and easy to navigate with a little practise. Good to have optional black or blue runs on most terrain so that if at different levels could still ski same areas.

Deer Valley was fantastic. Free ski minding overnight and easy access from Park City. No snow boarders a bonus if a true skiier...sorry boarders. Lots of steep terrain but also lots of challenging mogul runs and very beautiful surroundings. Truly easy access around entire resort .

We had a week of no wind which I think is pretty normal and much appreciated by us aussie skiiers. Transport via free buses around the resorts is efficient and warm!

Definitely would like to return.
