Deer Valley

Exclusive full service ski area, close to Salt Lake City and the venue for the 2002 Winter Olympic moguls, aerials and slalom events

When Deer Valley Resort opened in 1981, it set a new standard for the ski industry. Today, Deer Valley is an exclusive "full service" ski area with mountain hosts that look after everything from guiding to unloading skis.

Deer Valley is both inviting and accommodating, renowned for attention to detail. Immaculatly groomed slopes, service such as ski valets, achitecturally stunning hotels and lodges, and award winning cuisine garnered Deer Valley the number 1 ranked ski resort in North America by the readers of Ski Magazine in 2008, 2009 and again in 2010.

Snowboarders Not Welcome - A Skiers Delight

With a Ski only policy, and limits on the number of skiers on the slopes at each time, you can''t find a better ski experience than Deer Valley.

If it''s good enough for the Olympics it''s good enough for me!

Resort Facilities with stunning views - a short trip to the lovely Park City main street (yes, it is just like you see on TV!).

DVD - the Deer Valley Difference

Written by Lyndell a Skier from Melbourne, Australia
11/12/2009

Deer Valley is a multi-award winner and it’s easy to see why. The service and facilities at Deer Valley are outstanding, which is incredibly appealing to the upscale clientele that the resort caters to. Even though the resort attracts well heeled guests, there is no snobbiness apparent at the resort. Everyone is made to feel welcome ….. except for snowboarders! For many skiers the prohibition of snowboarders is THE major allure of Deer Valley. Just don’t get into a conversation with anyone on the chairlift about why they love the absence of snowboarders, or you might be there for an hour!

Deer Valley suits skiers who love perfectly groomed fall-line runs. The ski terrain is not so appealing for experts, powderhounds or hard-core skiers, as the small amount of challenging terrain is ripped up in minutes. Another downside is the lack of après or nightlife (and it’s not just a problem with the Utah liquor laws).

You have to pay a premium for everything at Deer Valley including accommodation, ski lessons, ski rental and food. Of course there’s no point complaining about the prices. If you have the funds for Deer Valley then enjoy. If not, go somewhere else!
