Great skiing holiday

Great resort and lodging.

Positives:

- ski school outstanding.  Great instructors, quick efficient grading process.  Outstanding value.  Max 7 students, but we were usually in a group of 2 or 3.

- the Cirque is very modern, great location, hot tub and pool just outside the door.  Very clean and well run.

- overall the total cost of this 10 day stay was 30% less than most other nearby resorts (Vail, Aspen etc)

- mountain was really well laid out.  Amazing beginner slopes on the West side.

The criticism of CM is that is is a bit soulless. I reckon this is partially true, but the restaurants were very good, and the village was fine.  Just not too many people, which was a big positive. Frankly, the only criticism I had was that it is so bloody high it took us two days to get used to the altitude. Otherwise we loved CM and The Cirque

Copper mtn 2012

Written by David a Skier from Canberra

Copper Mountain is a terrific place to ski and is a brilliant place to take the family.

Accommodation is great, access is excellent and the range of runs will suit all level of skiers.

The layout of the village, lifts and runs is fantastic. We rate Copper as No. 1 place for families and in top 5 of places we have skied in the world.

Downsides are having to go 10km to Frisco for a decent supermarket (but you can get groceries delivered) and the risk of a bit of altitude sickness as the village is at 8000 ft.

Copper Gold Plus Acc 2011

Written by Mike and Deidre a Skier from
7/4/2011

Our flight with United Business was good value for the cost. Bed great, service and food ok. Arrival in LA horrible, at least three hours getting through immigration and customs, just made our connecting flight. Copper didn''t have our booking or our tickets when we arrived but knew they were probably on the system, we were in Taylor Square and when I questioned our plus booking they said it had passed, it had two bathrooms which was great for us but the furniture was old however, we were comfortable but slightly disappointed.

Lefty Lucy and Moe Dickson more than made up for everything. Snow was great and very few people skiing. Our transport over was good this time, Aspen Square was just great. Warren welcomed us as if we had just left and Janet was great. Maybe just Aspen next year???????

The price we paid for our ski tickets is just amazing compared to the daily US price. Well done. Have to have the knees done before 2012 however we both bought skis and boots at our age and that is optimistic.......LA Sofitel was great the redecorated hotel is beautiful and the staff and restuarants in house were very good. Many thanks Toby again you have looked after us superbly......Deidre and Mike
