Limelight

Ahh, Aspen, Colorado. So chic, soulful, homely, glamorous. The majestic mountains towering around us somehow bring out the best in us all - perhaps keeping us all down to earth - yet aside from its friendly locals, this charming former mining town hosts its fair share of beautiful people and few celebs.
Aspen is historical yet with neat, ultra-modern touches, like when you whiz through the chairlift with your electronic ticket in your ski jacket. The skiing in Aspen is wonderful; lots of enticing runs for all levels. The slopes are never too crowded, the lines at the chairlift never long, which adds to the harmony and tranquility of your day up the mountain.
Back down the hill, there's so much to enjoy, at bars, eateries, galleries - or you can take in a show at The Wheeler Opera House.
The Limelight is a fab hotel to stay at. It's central and stylish, with a large gorgeous foyer/lounge area with inviting fireplace, live music, pizzas at the bar, and upbeat, caring staff. By Aspen standards, this hotel is moderately priced, too. Kids fit in well in this area and don't detract from the fun had by adults here. I've met and made lifelong pals from meeting fellow Limelight guests.
You're a snowball's throw from Aspen Mountain and an easy stroll to plenty of eateries, shops and galleries. On your way you pass pooches romping in the snow at Wagner Park. Great fun!
I can't wait to return to Aspen, and enjoy another stay at the Limelight Lodge.
