Cured of infidelity

Returning to Aspen after an absence of 2 years was like coming back to the lover you really want after a brief dalliance elsewhere. We skied in Courchevel last year and it was not a happy experience - no courtesy in queue line, old lifts and facilities, no assistance in boarding gondolas, arrogant ski instructors, and a town focused on getting every drop of the tourist dollar.
Aspen in contrast is a town where everything works; from the frequent shuttle bus that takes you to the 3 different skiing area, to the ski locker delivery system that ensures your skis are where you want them the following day; in addition there is ample help with skis and poles on all the lifts; food on the mountains and in town is high quality and everything is do able.
Staff and travellers are polite and appear happy for the most part, which is the mood you want on a holiday. The cultural side is not insignificant either - we were there during the Academy Screenigs and sometimes saw 2 films a night - the ones likely to be selected for the Academy Awards, so not a shabby selection. So, all in all, our 10 days were bliss - so, I won't stray again - why bother!
