Aspen 2011

2011 was the first year I had booked through Travelplan and I found the team lead by Toby Withers very friendly, helpful, efficient and responsive. However, when I got to Aspen Airport, around 1.30pm, I found that there was no designated phone for Independence Square transport as I had been advised. I spoke to the Information ladies who were extremely helpful and a phone call to Indy Square confirmed that no such service existed. I had the choice of Taxi or Airport Shuttle and opted for a taxi, which cost around USD20 with tip. People at Indy Square very helpful except the room was not going to be ready until around 4pm which I had not expected. I was able to utilise my time with lunch and ski hire arrangements. As the room was through a different agent to the hotel, I was told that if I had anything wrong with the room I had to ring Friars and the Indy Sq. staff would not be able to help. The Indy Sq breakfast is very minimal and only just adequate. All ski hire, lift tickets etc. booked through Travelplan were very well serviced. Indy Square is very well placed a block from the Gondola and across the road from the bus terminal. Perfect. All in all a great holiday, with only a few hiccups that I am now aware of for next time. All Airline transfers etc. went very smoothly with minimal waiting around at LAX - always a good thing.
Thank you Travelplan and Toby.
