Termas de Chillan is smokin''!

The ski and board terrain at Termas de Chillan (now known as Nevados de Chillan) is smokin’ – literally considering that it’s built on the slopes of the Chillán volcano. The beginner and intermediate areas are great, but the highlight of this ski resort is the really interesting and challenging terrain that has been created from rivers of lava flows (not recent ones though!). The ski area is large and powderhounds will find lots and lots of freshies. The lift system is dreadful but it’s forgivable in the presence of such remarkable terrain.  

After you’ve battered your body on the slopes, a soak in one of the termas (thermal spings) is a must. Termas de Chillan also has lots of other non-skiing activities on offer. Accommodation options range from the impressive ski-in ski-out 5 star Gran Hotel to multiple budget options in the town of Las Trancas down the hill.
