Whistler Blackcomb

Whilster January 2012

Our holiday at Whistler Blackcomb in January 2012 was fantastic. The Village has plenty to do for those who don't ski or want a day or two off the slopes.

There are so many restaurants and bars we only scratched the surface in the 10 days, all sorts of cuisine and budgets are catered for within the village. Ski school was fantastic, the 1 week Ski Camp was well worth the price.

Having breakfast included at the Pan Pacific made the start to the day very easy and the adults really appreciated drinks with Jim and his staff from 4pm, and the kids loved the cookies and hot chocolate. The rooms were comfortable my only complaint is the fire station at the back of the hotel. We loved that we could leave our skis at Pan Pacific Mountainside and it's a very short walk back to PP Village Centre if you don't walk through the village.

The staff more than willing to help with any query or to organise any activity you might try e.g. dog sledding. Just one piece of advice, avoid skiing on Saturday if you can, that’s when the locals come up from Vancouver and the slopes are busy and the queues long.  

Love Le Chamois

This is the third time we have been lucky enough to visit Whistler Blackcomb and all three times we have stayed at Le Chamois. Why stay all three times you ask? Firstly the people at Le Chamois, from reception through to booking managers and Hotel managers are always happy to see you and are willing to go the extra mile to help you achieve your vacation goal.

The Location is second to none. Step out of the hotel and you are straight onto the Wizard chair ready for a great days skiing on Blackcomb, you are also right where the children's ski school is on Blackcomb so if your child or you needs a break, (nap), you are merely steps back to the Hotel.

The views from the rooms on the mountainside are breathtaking, looking straight up the mountain and the ski lifts. The facilities are also terrific. There is a Gym, a hot tub & pool. Two yummy  restaurant's are in the building LA-RUA Restaurante and Nagomi Sushi. Spicy sports ski and snowboard hire are right in the building.

You are also right on the Shuttle bus route should you desire to venture down the road to the main village, it is also only a short five minute walk across the bridge to the village. We also love Le Chamois as it is a more quiet than the main village area and it is also directly across from the Fairmont Chateau to enjoy a cocktail or hot chocolate by the big open fire whilst watching the snow falling.

If you are looking for a holiday/vacation where everything you need is in the one place, look no further. We love Le Chamois.

Blackcomb - Epic Day

When the snow is right, you can't beat it. We had 25cms of fresh snow overnight so our warm up day of skiing was spent in good powder in Blackcomb Glacier.

Outstanding bluebird day.  

Whistler Village is superb - fun for all!
