Spending kids inheritance (with the kids)

After 27 hours of travel time the adults were pretty shattered, but our almost 3 year old was bouncing around like a snow leopard on steroids. Thanks to the great food and in-flight entertainment from Air New Zealand, the Bris-Auckland-Vancouver-Kamloops long haul was soon behind us.
At Sun Peaks, my hubby and I warmed up with some delish ice wine (grapes picked and pressed while frozen) while our son fell in love with mac and cheese (an orange pasta concoction). Runs were clear, lifts were right in front of our hotel and there was plenty of powder between the trees>Even after a few days between dumps we could find fresh tracks.
I ditched the board, ignored the calls of "Traitor" from my hubby and enrolled in a 2 hour ski lesson. With the brilliant ski instructors I went from 0 to cruising low blues.
Our son settled quickly into the Sun Tots ski program (ski lesson in the morning, snack, play, lunch, snow play, snack) and he crashed out at night. Combined with a trip into town for a Blazers ice hockey game, horse and carriage rides, bungee trampoline, dog sledding and lots of fun in the big hot tub, you know a holiday is a hit when you are asked every night, "Can I go to ski school tomorrow"?
