SKING WONDERLAND

Written by Noeleen a Skier from Frankston Victoria, Australia
16/4/2013

If you are a skier there is nothing better than slopes that are not crowded, lifts that are fast, food that is good and not too expensive and terrain that goes on for ever, with a great variety of slopes.  Sunpeaks has it all.

A beautiful little village with friendly staff and an array of great restaurants ,  what more could you ask for.

Awesome Sun Peaks

Written by Robert a Skier from Lara, Victoria Australia
20/3/2013

Spent 15 nights at Coast Sundance - superb accommodation and location at only 50 paces (from level 3) from bed to ski slopes; great staff always smiling.

Skiing conditions like you will never experience in Aust. and not the altitude (3000m+) you experience in USA. About 200cm snow base from double blacks to groomers. No lift lines to the point of almost ski straight in.

Booked entire trip thru Travelplan Ski and it all worked like clockwork - domestic, international and resort transfer travel; lift passes; accommodation. Total trip cheaper than skiing Japan.

Great trip and will do it again without a doubt. Thanks Travelplan Ski.

Sun Peaks

Written by Matt a Skier from Canberra, Australia
18/3/2013

The Coast Sundance Lodge, while being a little outdated, is in a perfect location with direct access to the slopes. The hotel itself has everything you need with a pub/restaurant and a number of shops located on the ground floor.

The 2x queen room is just that, 2 queen beds with a small table and 2 chairs and a functional kitchenette. There are no lounges.

The lodges secure ski locker room is well located with access to the slopes. There are laundry facilities in the basement with 2-3 machines for the whole lodge.

Nightlife and restaurants are somewhat limited in the resort and after 1-2 weeks we were tired of the same places.

The mountain is great and has varied terrain for all levels. The runs are wide and spread out and there are no crowds or lift lines. And some lifts have hoods for the colder days.

Sun Peaks - heaven

Written by Pat a Skier from
14/3/2013

Sun Peaks exceeded all of our expectations.

Skiing was fantastic with a 2 meter base and regular top ups, we really enjoyed the glade skiing & the variety of groomed & ungroomed runs.

Good quality & variety of restaurants or a choice of pub or pizza food for cheaper meals plus a supermarket if you preferred to eat in.

Highlight was definitely the chocolate shop.

Our ski in ski out one bedroom apartment was spacious and extremely comfortable, with a good sized kitchen and full bathroom facilities.

Only issue was lack of wireless Internet in the rooms.

Would definitely return & recommend the resort & the accommodation.

Great for families

Written by Jeffrey a Skier from Sydney Australia
18/2/2013

My family of 4 with two boys 11 and 8 stayed at Delta residence skiing 9 of 10 days. The mountain was fantastic with essentially no lift cues. Why pay more elsewhere to stand in line?

Guest services were very accommodating and easy to deal with, voluntarily offering to reschedule a lesson that we were not able to take.

The Residences are well located and equipped. There is only one grocery store in the village but it was well stocked. The restaurants are close and good.

Overall heartily recommended as a ski destination

Sun Peaks is a Fantastic Place - Shhh! don't tell too many people

Written by Lesley a Skier from Canberra, Australia
18/2/2013

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children recently spent 2 weeks in Sun Peaks and I'm pleased to say that all the positive reviews we read before we went, were absolutely true!

Sun Peaks offers fantastic skiing spread over 3 mountains and is also a very friendly place. It seems to have everything.

Maybe we should keep it a secret though, so we can keep it all to ourselves!

Stayed at Sundance Chalet!!

Written by Richard a Skier from Albury, Australia
7/2/2013

Stayed at Sundance Chalet 4 Bedroom 4 bathroom house.
4 Adults & 3 children.

Comfortably accommodated. Well supplied, excellent kitchen & barbecue area.

Easy walk to ski area and to ski home.

Restaurants surprising excellent standard and very reasonably priced for such a small town.

Very quiet resort so great for families.

Only minus is one very small supermarket. We made 1 trip to Kamloops for choice and to stock up.

Highly recommended for famillies

Sun Peaks

Written by Vanessa a Skier from Jindabyne, Australia
25/1/2013

Our first time to Canada and we are planning to return next year.

Canadians are beautiful people and they helped make our holiday one of the best yet.

The terrain is extensive and snow quality was perfect.

We are returning next year with our 4 year old and hope to make this an on going tradition. So nice to ski in a resort where there are no lift queues ever! Great family resort! Everything went to plan with our itinerary with no issues.

Travelplan are a wonderful company to deal with.

Great all round mountain

Written by Geoffrey P a Skier from East Port Melbourne, Australia
1/5/2012

My second visit to Sun Peaks. I decided to return with my partner who had not skied for 20 years as there is terrain suitable for both of us. The Sun Guides is a fantastic free service which allowed me to ski in the top group while my partner skied in the lowest group, so we were both happy and I did not have to worry or feel I needed to ski with her. The Sun Guides are there to ski with you morning and afternoon for over 2 hrs The Sun guiding was fantastic for me and I skied in areas I would never have attempted on my own.

There are no lift queues and fantastic grooming. The temperature never got over 0 deg C so snow quality was excellent the whole two weeks.

Staying at Cahility Lodge allowed me to ski with Al Raine and Nancy Greene which was a fantastic experience.

Sun Peaks February 2012

Written by Matt a Skier from Canberra, Australia
30/4/2012

Coast Sundance Lodge probably has the best location in Sun Peaks. Only a few steps to the lifts and right in the small village. The lodge is great value and the staff are helpful but it is getting a little dated.

The ski slopes at Sun Peaks are varied and have something for everyone. There were hardly any lines at the lifts and the sunburst chair has a hood for the cold days.

The Burfield chair is probably the slowest lift you'll find.

The village has some good dining options but after a few nights there isn't much variety.
