Sun Peaks an Independent Overview
Written by Paul a Skier from Sun Peaks an Independent Overview
Sun Peaks has good, varied skiing terrain, for most abilities. The runs range from relaxing and easy, wide and flat, to quite challenging with plenty of trees and natural obstacles. The groomed runs are very smooth and the daily published grooming information is accurate.
Crystal Forest, offers good accommodation, but it is quite far from the village and is nowhere near to being ski in/ski out, but there is a daytime free half hourly shuttle bus.
The village offers a range of cafes and restaurants. The restaurants are generally very good, but the cafes are all too small, with very limited seating arrangements.
Service throughout the resort, especially in the ticketing office and equipment rental shop is very poor.
In summary although we had very good skiing conditions, at Sun Peaks, it does not compare favourably with other Canadian ski resorts. Give me Big White any day.
