Panorama - where everyone can feel like a local!

Written by Anthea a Skier from Victoria, Australia

We have been to Panorama 3 times now and can''t bring ourselves to go elsewhere even though it takes a little effort to get there (flights + 3.5 hour drive from Calgary). The village is small and super personable.

The staff are very focussed on customer service, they soon know your names, remember them and want to say hello and have a chat. The terrain is awesome. From back country, double black to beginners there is truly something to keep everyone happy for days on end and the best bit is there's hardly any lift queues - ever!

The accommodation is modern, private, comfortable and ski in, ski out which makes life easy. There are awesome outdoor (very heated) pools to relax in. There is a fantastic ski school. CHEAP daycare options for children and family activities if you need that.

Nightlife is pretty low key with just 2 bars and about 5 restaurants but there is always a good, friendly crowd to talk to and get loud with and friendships are easily made. In the 3 visits we''ve made we honestly can''t fault this resort - check it out!

Panorama Xmas/New Year

Written by K a Skier from Sydney, Australia
14/3/2011

A very quiet resort, not much happening after dark, nice cruisy runs, heaps of ice made for scary moments, not much fresh fall, still blowing snow on NYD, temps good at -20/-30.

We had 15 nights booked but left after 11, the Spa at 1000 peaks was closed all season but we weren''t told at booking or checkin, terrain park heavily promoted on the web site for Panorama Resort didn''t materialise at all throughout our stay, so our very experienced boarder was gutted.

Would recommend for shorter stays, maybe twin stay & families with younger kids

Panorama is known for its immense mountain, but it’s the smaller-by-design village that really sets the resort apart.  All condos, town homes, and hotel rooms are just a short stroll, or Gondola ride, from dining that ranges from contemporary cuisine to the simplicity of a deli sandwich.  You’ll have access to the steaming waters of the Panorama Springs pools, Canada’s largest slopeside hot tubs.  Check out Showcase Snowboards for the latest gear or browse the works of local artisans in the Bavin Glass Cabin.
