Banff Experience

Written by David a Skier from Brighton VIC Australia
07/03/2014

Skiing at Lake Louise and Sunshine was good, the ski runs shorter than Whistler but groomed. Sunshine lifts and crew somewhat indifferent.

One adult skied at Kicking Horse and found great powder and terrain.

Fox Suites of a good standard but no cooking facilities like at Delta Suites Whistler.

Lots of Aussies around but no locals!!

Had fun, great nightlife for young and old adults.

Powder Pig Love Banff!

Written by Crystal a Snowboarder from Australia
16/4/2013

7 days in March @ the beautiful Banff Hidden Ridge Resort! Had great snow dumps! Lots of powder at Sunshine Village & fabulous views as you board awesome & diverse terrain.

After a long day on the slopes I could enjoy a turn in the hot tub with the most fabulous view! Amazing!

We were always greeted by friendly & helpful staff that ensured our well appointed room was well maintained, warm and ready to enjoy a wine in-front of the REAL fire!!

Douglas Fir Resort, Banff

Written by Tom a Snowboarder from Australia
13/3/2013

We stayed at the Douglas Fir Resort for 7 nights in Feb 2013. Firstly, the resort is located a fair distance from the main part of Banff. Its about a 5min bus ride down to the town and the buses run every 40mins. If you dont want to hire a car, i'd recommend staying at a place that is a bit closer to the centre of the town as you'll need to rely on the bus to get to the restaurants/bars and the shuttles to the ski resorts (which aren't time coordinated with the town bus).

Other than that the accomodation itself is quite good - rooms are large, they have a full kitchen, fire place and a TV in each room.
