Sunpeaks is truly a Family friendly resort. Kids merrily roam unaccompanied around the village hunting for stickers or drooling over the latest and greatest.  

Staff are easy going in the Canadian way. They will always give kids both big and small the time of day.  

There is a great variety of runs. Whether green, blue or black, they all funnel back to the major chairs up the hill. A good venue for groups with varied skiing ability. Cruise the 8 mile or 5 mile tracks to see the whole resort.  

Ice skating is great fun and pick up games of ice hockey abound. Our kids got hooked!  

Try cross country skiing, a huge range of tracks and gear is very cheap to hire. 

If you are a family of 4 or more, consider a private limo service out of Kamloops. The cost is not that much more than the bus and allows you to pick up groceries at Safeway and travel in comfort.   

The Supermarket and bottle shop in Sun Peaks are basic but cover most major purchases. 

It gets cold there. Speaking to the locals, they are fascinated by how underdressed Aussies are.  A few tips, Mittens not gloves.  Buy disposable hand warmers and toe warmers. I scoffed but I used them. Blue Sky, no wind -25 deg.....

Great intermediate groomed mountain which is well serviced (runs, lifts, access, food) Delta complex well set up, with pool,gym and ski valet. Residence apartments a little small and lacking in storage. Lovely view over village.

Ski out, generally ski in with a road to cross Restaurants/ cafes all good quality and mixed price options available.

Our family found Sun Peaks a wonderful skiing experience.

The resort is intimate and friendly and the holiday was so kid friendly.

The Delta Residences were very comfortable with everything so close including the lifts and I would definitely recommend it.

LOVED holiday at Sun Peaks

As per my email to Toby Withers a couple of weeks ago thanking Travelplan, we LOVED very nearly everything about Sun Peaks - snow quality, terrain, village, very well organised & clean, exceptionally friendly staff (even domestic staff in hotel), good value.

Would like to see a new gondola lift!

Great location average hotel

Sun peaks picture perfect but very quiet. 

Nightlife and restaurants were quiet with limited choice.  Hotel had it all in structure and location but poorly serviced. 

Would hightly recommend the dog sledding!! fantastic people and great fun.

Sun Peaks in January 2010

Sun Peaks was a wonderful ski destination.

The snow was fine despite the unseasonally warm weather.

Very easy to get around with good lift access and no queues.

The Delta Resort was first class in terms of location, facilities and service although rooms varied quite a lot in standard (although nothing below 4 star ski standard).

Supermarket was not great.

Restaurants of mixed standard.

Would go back.

Sunpeaks is a fantastic resort for families. The accommodation at the Residence was outstanding and the location makes it easy to get to the slopes and enjoy the village facilities. 

The service from the hotel, ski shops, ski school was always helpful and friendly.

Terrain is great for skiers and boarders of all levels and wide enough to keep "boys" busy on their boards, but still accommodating mum.

Village is not over run, and vibrant during the day, but quite relaxed at night.

Highly recommend it to all families looking for a great ski holiday.

''We'll go back again''

Our family of five stayed at the Delta Residences in beautiful sun Peaks.  Our apartment was roomy and well appointed with access to all the hotel facilities.  The Delta is very family friendly, with a great indoor/outdoor pool along with some great outdoor hot tubs on the terrace. 

The restaurants were all pretty good, but it''s not a place known for the night life.

The resort is breathtaking with incredibly long wide groomed runs, from easy to very challenging.  Something for everyone in our family plus a great ski school with excellent instructors.

When you stand at the top of five mile run, you know it''s great to be alive. 

We have already booked our second trip there.
