Sunpeaks is truly a Family friendly resort. Kids merrily roam unaccompanied around the village hunting for stickers or drooling over the latest and greatest.
Staff are easy going in the Canadian way. They will always give kids both big and small the time of day.
There is a great variety of runs. Whether green, blue or black, they all funnel back to the major chairs up the hill. A good venue for groups with varied skiing ability. Cruise the 8 mile or 5 mile tracks to see the whole resort.
Ice skating is great fun and pick up games of ice hockey abound. Our kids got hooked!
Try cross country skiing, a huge range of tracks and gear is very cheap to hire.
If you are a family of 4 or more, consider a private limo service out of Kamloops. The cost is not that much more than the bus and allows you to pick up groceries at Safeway and travel in comfort.
The Supermarket and bottle shop in Sun Peaks are basic but cover most major purchases.
It gets cold there. Speaking to the locals, they are fascinated by how underdressed Aussies are. A few tips, Mittens not gloves. Buy disposable hand warmers and toe warmers. I scoffed but I used them. Blue Sky, no wind -25 deg.....
